CUSTOM TATTOO PROCESS

To book a custom tattoo, you’ll want to have a general idea for your tattoo, images for reference, and a rough idea of size and placement. Please let me know any important aspects so I know what to include in your custom design. After we talk through the details, you’ll be able to pick a date. If you’re working with a budget, that’s helpful to know, too. Having a bit of an open mind for the artwork, placement, and budget is strongly recommended for the best result.

It’s my policy to not send designs in advance. When it comes time for your appointment, we’ll have time make sure you’re happy with your design before tattooing. Small design changes are totally fine. If you’re not vibing with the design as a whole, we can treat the appointment like a consult and reschedule the tattoo so I can do a redraw. A redraw with a new appointment time does require a new deposit ~ but it’s worth it to make sure you love your tattoo.

I can’t take on every request, but I’m more likely to take on nature-related subjects, weird and unique ideas, antique objects, ornamental, fantasy, and handwriting tattoos, but I’m open to almost anything if it’s in my skillset!

COST

I charge a flat rate per piece based on size, detail and placement, which we will discuss before booking. I may schedule a piece that would take over 4 hours into two sessions. Other than the deposit, the studio is CASH preferred, or card with a $10 processing fee. Cash is heavily preferred to avoid going to pay at the end and not having easy access to funds, having a card decline, technical difficulties, etc.

Deposits are non-refundable and they will contribute to the total cost.

Custom designs require a $100 deposit at the time of booking. Minimum price is $135 for a small tattoo. Special pricing: handwriting or simple font up to 4” wide and 1.5” tall will be flat rate $100.

Flash designs are my pre-drawn designs and require $50 deposit at the time of booking. Minimum price is $80.

♡♡♡ Monetary tips are always appreciated, not required! Non-monetary tips are cherished, and these are some favorites:

  • I love fun beverages! My favorites are iced matcha latte, iced vanilla latte with whole milk, sugar free red bull/any flavor rebel, half iced tea+half lemonade

  • Any vegetarian food, treats like sour candy, baked goods, chocolate

  • Ceramics, prints, artwork, crafts, fresh flowers

  • Thrifted trinkets, art books, weird framed art

RESCHEDULING & LATENESS

If you need to reschedule, give 48 hours notice minimum. Your deposit will be good for up to 6 months. Last minute reschedule or cancellation (other than illness/emergency/weather) will lose the deposit. Please reschedule if you’re feeling sick, even if it’s the same day.

Please allow 5-10 minutes to park and pay for parking (or park in the free structure a block away on Ferry Street). I have a 15-minute grace period for lateness ~ after that, your appointment will be cancelled or rescheduled with a new deposit sent. Please message me if you’re running behind.

If I need to reschedule on my end due to illness/emergency/weather, I’ll offer you the choice of a new appointment time or a refund of your deposit.

GROUP TATTOOS

I can take groups for matching tattoos, a variety of small tattoos, or flash! Group tattoos could either require one deposit per group or one deposit per person depending on design complexity. There is a small waiting area in the hallway, and I’m downtown so folks are free to walk around while waiting for their turn. Please plan for extra time!

REWORKS AND COVERUPS

I rework or cover up old tattoos not by me on a case-by-case basis. Please make sure to send a few photos - make sure the photos are clear and well-lit. It’s important to be flexible on the design for coverups and understand you may still be able to see some of the old tattoo in some cases.

TOUCH UPS

I offer free touch-ups up to a year after your tattoo. Please send me a clear, well-lit photo of your tattoo to schedule a touch-up. Let me know if you’re not sure if your tattoo needs a touch up!

HOW TO PREPARE

  • Bring a valid ID stating you are over 18

  • Grab cash (I can give you an estimate for how much to bring!)

  • Shower beforehand, and moisturize the area that will be tattooed! I do ask for any lower leg or ankle tattoos that you wash feet well and wear some clean socks.

  • Bring sweatshirt or blanket just in case

  • Bring a guest, or just yourself! Additional guests can hang out at the waiting area in the lobby or explore downtown.

  • I would strongly suggest bringing headphones or something else to distract you in case I’m in the zone and not super talkative!

  • Wear clothing that will be comfortable and allow easy access to the tattoo area. Please ask me if you aren’t sure what to wear! Example, for back tattoos wear a halter top or bring a button down shirt to wear backwards.

  • Optional: snacks, water, anything else you need to be comfy!

DON’TS

  • Don’t schedule anything right after your tattoo since tattoos can take more time than expected sometimes

  • Don’t show up sick, on an empty stomach, hungover, or intoxicated.

  • Don’t bring babies or young children to your appointment.

  • Don’t get a tattoo if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on blood thinners.

  • Don’t plan your tattoo on skin with active acne, sunburns, razor burns, open wounds, healing scars, psoriasis, any kind of infection, or skin that is very dry, rough or cracked.

  • Don’t schedule your tattoo during a time when you might be sunburned or hungover before coming in.

  • Do not schedule your tattoo less than 2 weeks before a trip where you will be swimming/in the sun.

RISK

There is always a small risk of infection and allergic reactions to ink when getting a tattoo. I follow all Oregon sanitation laws and standards, and I provide aftercare instructions. It is up to you to care for your tattoo during healing to prevent infection.

LONGEVITY

Ink will naturally spread a bit over time, and I want your tattoo to look amazing for the foreseeable future. The more detailed the design, the bigger your tattoo should be. Wearing sunscreen, moisturizing, and hydrating can help your tattoo look great long-term.

GIFT CARDS

Gift cards can be purchased in any amount by emailing me. Gift cards are non-refundable and valid for 2 years. I prefer that gift cards are purchased for folks who already know what my work looks like, so they’ll be ready to work with me!
